Darren Aronofsky's latest feature Caught Stealing will be available for home viewing in India soon. Netflix has announced a post-theatrical premiere date of Jan. 10.

Starring Austin Butler, Zoe Kravitz, and Matt Smith in lead roles, the film is a crime drama that sees Aronofsky returning to the 1990s setting to tell a crime drama that, despite the gritty storytelling and a significant amount of discomforting violence, is relatively more lighthearted compared to the director's previous efforts.

Aronofsky, who is most popular for his cult classic Requiem for a Dream, last directed Brendan Fraser in the critically acclaimed and multiple award-winning The Whale.

Based on the novel by Charlie Huston, Caught Stealing is a period piece that captures the authentic atmosphere of the 1990s crime dramas based in New York City. It follows Hank Thompson (Austin Butler), a burned-out ex-baseball player and bartender whose life is suddenly upended when Russian thugs involve him in a situation that has got nothing to do with him, leading to intense confrontations and a violent chain of events. Kravitz plays his girlfriend while Smith is cast as his eccentric neighbour.

With a screenplay by Charlie Huston himself, the film was shot by Aronofsky's frequent collaborator, cinematographer Matthew Libatique, with editing duties handled by Andrew Weisblum. It has music by Rob Simonsen. Mark Friedberg worked on the production design.
