On Day 2, Kalamkaval raked in Rs 1.88 crore till 5 pm, taking thee total to Rs 5.88 crore in net domestic collection, according to Sacnilk data.
This comes after the crime thriller minted Rs 5 crore in net India collection on Day 1, making it Mammootty's best opening in 2025. The other two releases this year were Bazooka, which grossed Rs 3.7 crore on Day 1 and Dominic and the Ladies Purse, which netted Rs 2.05 crore.
How much did Kalamkaval earn in worldwide collection?
In gross domestic collection, Kalamkaval bagged Rs 5.85 crore on Day 1. The overseas collection stood at 7.65 crore. This takes the total Day 1 worldwide collection to Rs 13.5 crore. The Day 2 worldwide collection is expected on Sunday.
Kalamkaval, which is helmed by Jithin K. Jose, the director of Dulquer Salmaan's Kurup, has delivered another gem in the crime genre. Jithin co-wrote the screenplay with Jishnu Sreekumar. The film stars Vinayakan in a key role. Gibin Gopinath, Gayathri Arun, Rajisha Vijayan, Shruti Ramachandran, and Malavika Menon are also part of the cast.
