Bollywood actress Celina Jaitly has initiated legal proceedings against her husband, hotelier Peter Haag, alleging domestic violence, cruelty, and manipulation. Following her petition at a Mumbai court, Haag has been issued a formal notice. Although details are limited, initial reports indicate Jaitly acted under the Domestic Violence Act.
In an NDTV report, Jaitly, in her petition, described Haag as a "narcissist" and "self-absorbed individual" who demonstrates "no empathy" for her or their children.
Jaitley, who made her debut in Feroz Khan's 2003 film Janasheen, opposite Fardeen Khan, married the Austrian hotelier and entrepreneur in 2011 in Austria.
How did Celina Jaitley and Peter Haag meet?
The two met through a mutual friend in 2010 during an event in Dubai. They began dating afterwards and later married in Austria, following a discreet engagement the previous year at Celina's residence in Mumbai.
They became parents to twin children in 2012. In 2017, Jaitly once again gave birth to another set of twins, but one of them didn't survive due to a congenital heart condition.
Battles with depression
In a 2020 interview with Gulf News, Jaitly spoke positively about her husband's support for her when she was battling severe depression following the demise of her parents and the child.
The former Miss India had spoken about her struggle to return to acting after the tragedy while promoting her 45-minute short film Season's Greetings. “It was very difficult to face the camera when you are facing depression and when you have lost your mother, and a child… Shooting for this film was one of the most difficult things I had to ever do in my life,” she said then.

The actress also shared in the same interview that Haag left his job in Dubai and decided to return to Austria to help her. "I was suffering from such severe depression that we had no option but to leave Dubai. He said, ‘Let’s go back to Austria and let us disconnect from everything till you get better. That really helped me, and getting my husband’s support in this meant a lot. In a way, Season’s Greetings played an important part in healing me and making me feel better,”
Jaitly has appeared in mainstream entertainers such as No Entry, Golmaal Returns, Thank You, Apna Sapna Money Money and Money Hai Toh Honey Hai.
