When we talk about box office miracles in India, it is generally dominated by the four southern states and the Hindi film industry. However, once in a while, there comes a regional film from other states that ends up doing mind-boggling business. Laalo - Krishna Sada Sahaayate, a Gujarati film, is the latest in this list.
Made on a low budget of Rs 50 lakh, Laalo - Krishna Sada Sahaayate opened to a very low figure of Rs 2 lakh nett on its opening day. In fact, the first week was just steady as it collected Rs 33 lakh across the seven days. When we consider Gujarati films, this isn't a bad start, especially for such a small budget film.
Laalo - Krishna Sada Sahaayate in its second week sustained close to 90 percent of its first week collections, which meant collections of close to Rs 60 lakh after two weeks. By now, it was a given that the film would turn profitable for its investors but little did they know that the film would end up creating unprecedented numbers.
Whatever the film collected in its first two weeks cumulatively, it doubled in just its third week to take the collection towards Rs 1.22 crore nett. The word-of-mouth, that had started to spread at a steady rate, was now going at the electric speed. The last few weeks have been nothing short of historical for Laalo - Krishna Sada Sahaayate.
