Four more 'Yellowstone' spinoffs on the way; 'Y: Marshals' to premiere first

Taylor Sheridan, the creative force behind 'Yellowstone', is rapidly expanding his television empire with an unprecedented number of new projects. The first is 'Y: Marshals', set for a March 2026 premiere

Take one look at the lost of in-development projects Taylor Sheridan's filmography and you'll see that he is arguably the most productive creator on television at the moment. It was only a day ago that Season 2 of Landman premiered worldwide. Now, we have more to look forward from the Sheridan stable (no pun intended).

Since Yellowstone ended in 2024, we have heard of additional properties from the same universe — or connected to it in some way — in development. Following the successful launch of 1883, 1924, and Lawmen: Bass Reeves (not part of the Yellowstone universe), we are getting four more spinoffs — if not counting the three more that are rumoured to be in development. The first is Y: Marshals, followed by The Madison, The Dutton Ranch, and 1944.

When is 'Y: Marshals' set?

Y: Marshals is set directly after the events of Yellowstone. It follows the character Kayce Dutton, played by Luke Grimes. A teaser has been released online. It is set to premiere on CBS in March 2026.

The show will see Kayce moving away from his life in the Dutton ranch and adopting the law enforcement life, as he takes on his new responsibility as a member of the elite unit of U.S. Marshals.

According to the official logline, Kayce will make use of his experience as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana, where he and his teammates must balance family, duty and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region's war on violence."

What are the other confirmed 'Yellowstone' spinoffs about?

After Y: Marshals, next in line is The Madison, to be launched on Paramount Television. It will revolve around a "wealthy, presumably dysfunctional New York City family that moves to rural Montana." Michelle Pfeiffer (Scarface, The Age of Innocence) Patrick J. Adams (Suits, Wayward), Beau Garrett (Firefly Lane, Tron: Legacy), and Matthew Fox (Lost, Bone Tomahawk) are lead cast members.

The Dutton Ranch will center on Yellowstone characters Beth (Kelly Reilly), Rip (Cole Hauser) and Carter (Finn Little). Meanwhile, 1944 is another prequel exploring a generation of the Duttons, and will be along the lines of 1883 and 1923
