After a marathon run, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra finally ended its theatrical run last week. The Kalyani Priyadarshan-Naslen starrer had its OTT premiere on October 31 with JioHotstar and that officially put a full stop to the box office collections.
Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra ended its theatrical run as the highest Mollywood grosser of all time in Kerala, India and worldwide. The only major lifetime record that it couldn't break is at the overseas box office where Empuraan still remains the top grosser. Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, meanwhile, occupies the no.2 spot in the list.
In Kerala, it ended with Rs 120.90 crore, making it only the second film ever to go past Rs 100 crore in the state after Thudarum (Rs 118.90 crore). It also became the second film to collect a cumulative figure of Rs 50 crore from the rest of India after Manjummel Boys. Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra ended with an India gross of Rs 184 crore.
It is the highest-grossing Malayalam film in India beating Manjummel Boys. The Dominic Arun directorial became the highest Mollywood grosser in Telugu states and no.2 grosser in Tamil Nadu. Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra's overseas collections stood at Rs 119.50 crore, thereby making it the first Mollywood film to go past Rs 100 crore in Kerala and overseas.
