Billy Bon Thornton will return in Landman Season 2. JioHotstar will premiere the new season on November 17 in India, while Paramount Plus will launch it in U.S. on November 16.
Based on Christian Wallace's podcast "Boomtown", the first season premiered in November 2024, and the positive reception from critics and audiences led to a second season getting greenlit.
The series, which revolves around the uneasy relationship between fictional oil companies and Mexican drug cartels, and the complicated dynamics between their family members, is created by Taylor Sheridan, known for Yellowstone and its prequels, and the films Sicario and Hell or High Water.
Thornton reprises his character Tommy Norris, a petroleum Landman and Operations VP at M-Tex Oil, which was headed by Jon Hamm's character, Monty Miller. Demi Moore plays Monty’s wife Cami, while Ali Larter plays Tommy's ex-wife Angela Norris and Michelle Randolph the latter's daughter Ainsley Norris.
Andy García, who showed up in the end of the first season as drug cartel boss Galino, will have a prominent role in Season 2.
Deals are about to get dirtier. Secrets are about to go deeper.

Other returning cast members are Paulina Chavez, Mark Collie, and James Jordan, among others.
Season 2 will see new additions in the form of Guy Burnet, Miriam Silverman, Stefania Spampinato, and Sam Elliott in recurring roles.
In its review of the series, THE WEEK wrote: "It takes us deep into the inner workings of the American oil industry and introduces us to roles we usually don't hear about. The concept of the landman and the extent to which his responsibilities stretch, for one. Sheridan, being the thorough and passionate researcher that he is, and who has by now revealed himself as a prolific screenwriter with a taste for untold stories that span generations (the number of properties he is currently involved in is jaw-dropping!), puts us amidst some of the most well-defined characters caught in murky waters."
