Pradeep Ranganathan's latest release Dude is making waves at the box office even as the audience feedback on the film remains mixed across the board. The comedy entertainer, directed by Keerthiswaran, has endured a strong start with the two days worldwide gross reported to be in the Rs 35-40 crore gross range.

In Tamil Nadu, the film collected approximately Rs 13.50 crore gross in two days with the second day's collections showing a 15-20 percent growth over Day 1. The third day is set to be its biggest day at the box office with early estimates suggesting slightly higher collections than Day 2.

On its third day, Dude has shown a 10 percent jump in morning collections when compared to Saturday while the afternoon shows suggest a similar or slightly higher occupancy acrosss the board in Tamil Nadu. As per the current trends, the film is on course to collect Rs 7.5-8 crore gross in the state.

The two-day gross in India is approximately Rs 20 crore and the third day should bring in another Rs 10 crore to the kitty, making it an excellent opening weekend for the film with the Diwali holiday yet to come. The box office momentum should continue for the next two days as well with the holidays falling across Monday and Tuesday in the country.

In Tamil Nadu, Diwali falls on Monday (October 20) but the State Government has announced October 21 as an additional holiday, meaning two more days for Dude to pack in a sensational five-day extended opening weekend.

Dude has also seen an excellent start overseas with the opening day collections coming to $0.9 million including premieres. The overseas two-day figures have come to Rs 15 crore with more locations yet to report. Exact number would be known after the weekend.

The three-day worldwide gross is expected to be around Rs 45-50 crore gross and the five-day extended weekend could touch Rs 70 crore worldwide. STUPENDOUS!
