It has been a fruitful year for the Kerala Box Office thus far with two Industry Hits coming in the space of five months. There is also a new entrant into the top-five grossers of the year with Kantara: Chapter 1 joining the list.
The Rishab Shetty-starrer has grossed Rs 43 crore approximately in 11 days at the Kerala Box Office. On its 11th day, it has raced past the lifetime collections of Hridayapoorvam (Rs 42.75 crore) to take the fourth spot in the list. With strong momentum on its side, Kantara: Chapter 1 should get past Rs 50 crore in this week itself and will be aiming for a Rs 70-75 crore lifetime gross.
The top grosser at the Kerala Box Office this year, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, is also the all-time record grosser in the state. The Kalyani Priyadarshan-starrer has grossed Rs 120.90 crore and is almost nearing its theatrical run. The fantasy action flick's OTT rights have been acquired by JioHotstar and is expected to premiere in the last weekend of October.
Mohanlal's Thudarum, the previous all-time record Kerala grosser with Rs 118.90 crore, is the second-highest grosser of the year, making it a truly memorable 2025 for the superstar. His other release Empuraan (Rs 86.25 crore) takes the third spot, making it a 'Mohanlal show' with three of his films in the top-five grossers of the year.

Hridayapoorvam might find itself out of the list by the time 2025 ends but it Thudarum and Empuraan are likely to hold on to their positions in this list.
