The highly anticipated teaser for Mahesh Narayanan's 'Patriot' released on Thursday, uniting Mollywood superstars Mohanlal, Mammootty, and Fahadh Faasil for the very first time.
The 'Take Off' and 'C U Soon' director's latest project also sees Kunchako Boban, Nayanthara, and Revathi in key roles.
The explosive on-screen reunion of Mohanlal and Mammootty comes 16 years after Joshiy's action thriller 'Twenty: 20' (2008), which saw the two veteran actors take each other head on over a medical college murder.
The teaser shows Fahadh Faasil's character concerned about a possible union between a retired JAG officer (Mammootty), who is framed for espionage, and an armed forces operative (Mohanlal).
The teaser also offers a glimpse of the film's gripping action sequences, layered narrative, and strong performances.
Around 60 per cent of the film has already been shot, with the remainder of the production delayed due to Mammootty's health complications, due to which he underwent treatment in Chennai over 8 months. He resumed filming in Hyderabad earlier this week, as anticipation once again builds up for the film.
Produced by Anto Joseph, the film is reportedly set to release on April 2026.
Netizens showed support for the teaser in large numbers, praising its action sequences, the powerhouse cast, and Mammootty's return after health issues.
"Something's been kept hidden ... I have high hopes," a user commented under the teaser.
"Mammootty and Mohanlal—the CEOs of Malayalam cinema—are finally back together. This is the return of the kings. Dear Indian cinema, take this!” a fan wrote.
"It better have a good story," a Redditor wrote, not expressing excitement for the film just yet.
