Pawan Kalyan’s ‘They call him OG’ is shattered box office records on opening day, crossing the ₹150 crore mark worldwide. The action crime thriller hit theatres around the globe on September 25.

The film saw the fourth biggest opening for a Telugu film with a day 1 collection of ₹70 crore for the Telugu version. OG also collected about ₹20.25 crore just from special preview shows.

The overall day 1 domestic collection of the film, including the paid previews, crossed ₹90.25 crore across all languages, according to Sacnik. The film had one of the biggest opening day collections in the history of Indian cinema.

The film's total overseas opening is estimated to be around ₹50 crore, with paid previews in the US estimated to be around ₹26 crore, helping the film achieve around ₹155 crore in its worldwide opening.

OG entered the list of the top 10 biggest openers in Telugu cinema according to a report by HT, establishing itself at the fourth spot.

With its ₹70 crore opening, the Pawan Kalyan's starer went past films like Prabhas’s Salaar: Part 1 (₹66.75 crore)

Kalki 2898 ad (₹65.8 crore)

Saaho (₹60 crore)

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (₹58 crore)

Pushpa The Rise (₹38.15crore)

Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (₹37 crore)

The only films ahead are Devara Part 1 (₹73.25 crore), Pushpa 2 (₹80 crore)

and RRR( ₹103.13 crore).

With its total opening collections, the film also crosses several recent blockbuster numbers like Animal ( ₹116 crore), Jawan ( ₹128 crore), Leo (₹143 crore), and Coolie (₹153 crore).  The final numbers of worldwide collections will be out later.

Pawan Kalyan and Emraan Hashmi both star as rival gangsters in the film.

The film was written and directed by Sujeeth and also stars Priyanka Mohan, Prakash Raj, Arjun Das, Sriya Reddy, Shaam, Harish Uthaman, Rahul Ravindran and Jackie Shroff in a cameo. Hashmi plays his Telugu debut role in the film.

It was jointly produced by DVV Danayya and Kalyan Dasari under the banner of DVV Entertainments.
