The Aryan Khan-Sameer Wankhede battle has resumed after a long hiatus. On Thursday (September 25), the former Narcotics officer approached the Delhi High Court to file a case against Aryan and his debut web series The Bads of Bollywood.
According to NDTV, Wankhede's allegations are regarding inappropriate portrayal of anti-drug agencies in the series. Wankhede claims that allowing such acts would reduce the public's trust in law enforcement agencies. In short, it is a defamation suit from Wankhede and it has now reopened his saga with Aryan, one that dates back to October 2021.

On 3rd October 2021, Aryan along with six others were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) after their raid on an alleged rave party in a cruise ship. After close to eight months of trial, in May 2022, the charges against Aryan was dropped by the NCB who revealed that no drugs had been found on Aryan or in his possession.
Meanwhile, Wankhede, who had headed that case, was subsequently transferred from Mumbai to Chennai and has kept a low profile ever since. On the other hand, Aryan was busy prepping up for his directorial debut The Bads of Bollywood, a quirky web series that released on 18th September 2025 through the streaming platform Netflix.
Ever since the series released, there were talks about a sequence that looks like a potshot at Wankhede. In that scene, a Narcotics officer is seen entering a rave party but is only interested in arresting people from Bollywood. He does see a few people using drugs but lets them go on knowing that they are not celebrities.
This sequence, dripped in dark humour, instantly caught the interests of netizens who read between the lines to interpret Aryan's subtle dig at Wankhede. Nearly a week later, that has escalated to a different level with Wankhede's latest case at the Delhi High Court.
