Aryan Khan's 7-episode debut project, 'The Bads of Bollywood', grabbed headlines barely a week from its release for its maverick plot and bold, self-aware satire that surprised many.
However, social media reactions to the show initially went from praise for Aryan's experimental debut to doubt about whether a ghost director (a secret, uncredited director) was used instead.
"Unsure whether its Aryan Khan or Ghost director," a user wrote on X, amid praise for the series.
"To really think that this was done by one person alone is naive. For a project like this he must have a ghost-writing team or story consultants at his disposal to fine tune the script," a Redditor weighed in, casting doubt about whether Aryan khan had even written the series.

"There is no way he is the sole writer and director of this in the traditional Bollywood sense," another Redditor declared.

However, 'Bads of Bollywood' actress Anya Singh quashed netizens' doubts, saying that people just wanted "an opportunity to bring another person down".
"He knew there'd be conversations and chatter, but he did not question his vision at any point. I have a lot of respect for how he has stood by his own thoughts," she told Hindustan Times.
Written and directed by Aryan Khan, 'The Bads of Bollywood' is currently battling online outrage over a scene with Ranbir Kapoor using an e-cigarette (vape)—which is banned in India—without an appropriate disclaimer.
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) issued a notice to the Commissioner of Mumbai Police, urging that an FIR be filed against Kapoor, the show's producers, and Netflix.
