Oscar Isaac's return to Netflix after "The Beef" is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated titles in the streamer's upcoming roster. Netflix has officially added five new stars to the cast of the Las Vegas-based casino drama series, which also has Isaac involved as an executive producer alongside legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese.
Vincent D'Onofrio ("Full Metal Jacket", "Daredevil") joins as Dominic Ward, a powerful MMA mogul who uses his influence to manipulate competing casino bosses. Kate Mara ("A Teacher") has been cast as Holly Reeve, a highly educated entrepreneur running an exclusive empire who shares a complicated past with Isaac's character.
Clancy Brown ("Highlander", "The Penguin") will appear in a recurring role as Elwood, a weathered figure who knows exactly where the city's literal and metaphorical bodies are buried. Thomas Sadoski ("The Newsroom") is Chef Luca, a brilliant but self-destructive superstar chef. Appearing in a guest role is Jason Schwartzman ("Rushmore") as David Krupp, a clean-cut heir whose massive casino debts land him in deep trouble.
These actors join previously announced cast members: Oscar Isaac plays Robert “Bobby Red” Redman, the president of the hottest hotel-casino in town struggling to secure his territory; Betty Gilpin ("GLOW") as Marla Blake, Bobby’s formidable lawyer wife; Alec Baldwin as Paul “Primo” Clark, the organization's ruthless chairman and Bobby's surrogate father figure; David Costabile ("Billions") as Bill Saverick, a rival casino operator caught between friendship and business; Shalom Brune-Franklin ("Dune: Prophecy") as Jessica Christine “JC” Griffin, an ambitious high-roller host and casino fixer. Jimmy O. Yang ("Interior Chinatown") as Rich Tzu, an Eton-educated executive and a direct rival to Bobby.
JC Chandor, known for his work on "A Most Violent Year" and "Triple Frontier", will direct the first two episodes of the eight-episode show, which has Brian Koppelman and David Levien serving as showrunners.
