Legendary singer Zubeen Garg passed away at the age of 52 on Friday (September 19) in Singapore due to a scuba diving accident. The veteran singer, who specialised in Assamese songs for most parts, also sang in 39 other languages, tallying a total of more than 30000 songs. For a majority of Indian people, Garg is best remembered for the iconic song 'Ya Ali' from the film Gangster which was his Bollywood debut. That song and the album in general made waves across the country but Garg barely sang in Hindi over the years. Not that he needed to, because he was a certified Assamese singer whose stardom went well beyond his singing skills.
