'The Great Indian Kapil Show' star Archana Puran Singh on Friday clarified details about co-star Kiku Sharda's exit from the hit show hosted by comedian Kapil Sharma.
Following Sharda's unavailability to comment on the rumours, Singh told Hindustan Times on Friday that "there was absolutely no truth" in them.
“Our cast and crew are one big, happy family. And will always be so,” she said, reiterating that there were no issues between any cast members.
This follows several reports claiming that Sharda—a versatile actor who plays multiple roles on the famous comedy chat show—had quit, in order to join Ashneer Grover's reality show.
Several reports claimed that Kiku, who plays several characters on Kapil Sharma's comedy chat show, has quit the show and is joining Ashneer Grover's reality show, 'Rise and Fall' instead.
Following his exit from Shark Tank India and fintech company BharatPe over allegations of financial irregularities, Grover is set to host his new show, set to premiere on Amazon MX Player on September 6.
However, Kiku Sharda was also seen as a contestant in the teaser for the reality show, which complicates his position.
Other reports—as well as a viral video from the sets of the 'Kapil Show'—also alleged there was a rift between Sharda and co-star Krushna Abhishek, which added to the rumours. However, an Indian Express report claimed that the argument was merely a prank pulled off on a guest.
A video of comedians Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda arguing on the sets of The Great Indian Kapil Show has gone viral. While some fans believe it’s real, others call it a “publicity stunt” for TRP. Neither actor has clarified yet.

Some reports also say that Sharda has completed filming the latest season of Kapil Sharma's show, after which he is to enter the sets of 'Rise and Fall'. Whether he will return to the sets of Kapil Sharma's show later on remains unclear.
