The 71st National Film Awards were announced on Friday. The National Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role was shared between veteran Malayalam actor Vijayaraghavan for his role in 'Pookkalam' and Muthupettai Somu Bhaskar for his role in the Tamil drama 'Parking'.
Ramkumar Balakrishnan was the joint-winner of the Best Screenplay category for 'Parking' while the composition for 'Vaathi' won GV Prakash Kumar the award for Best Music Direction.

'Parking', directed by debutant director Ramkumar Balakrishnan, also featured Harish Kalyan, Indhuja Ravichandran and Prarthana Nathan amongst others alongside MS Bhaskar. Its plot revolves around a conflict over a parking slot between two tenants who live in the ground and upper portions of the same house.
