Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan's brand of wry, intellectual humour has finally made its way to Instagram, following the actor's long-time online presence on other social media platforms.
In an Instagram Story shared on Tuesday, the 82-year-old veteran actor candidly admitted that he was still learning how to use the famous social media platform.
“So ... I'm just getting educated on how to work Instagram,” he said, adding at the end: “And I hope it works.”
Indeed, Amitabh Bachchan is no dinosaur when it comes to learning new things: the octogenarian continues to amaze people with his willingness to learn skills of all kinds, in order to keep himself updated and relevant.
The actor is quite well-versed in blogging on social media, is a linguist, has made himself adept at using various forms of technology, refined his business acumen, and is well-read on health and nutrition (owing to the numerous health crises he faced during his life).
While his Tumblr account offers a deep, reflective take on his daily life, his X (formerly Twitter) account is filled with examples of his wry humour and community engagement, via multilingual posts.
Indeed, earlier this week, Big B posted a reflective piece musing on creativity amid noise, and the desire to attain "the excess". Humorously, he defeats the point just a few lines later, by posting a picture of a 50-year-old ticket for 'Sholay',which is said to be one of Bollywood's greatest films.
“The Sholay ticket .. kept and preserved, just defeated whatever has been expressed a few lines above... ₹20!! the price.. !!!!!?? I am told that is the price of an aerated drink in theatre halls nowadays... is that a fact?? So much to say, but say not... affection and love,” he wrote. However, he'd be astounded to know that the price of soft drinks in movie theatres is sadly upwards of ₹150 these days.
On the work front, the actor is set to reprise his role as the host for the 17th season of the pan-Indian game show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati'. Last seen in the 2024 Tamil film 'Vettaiyan' with Rajnikanth, Fahadh Faasil, and Rana Daggubati, he is currently filming a number of projects, and remains busy as ever.
