Actor and screenwriter Murali Gopy, known for Lucifer and Empuraan, has reteamed with Tiyaan director Jiyen Krishnakumar for a Tamil-Malayalam bilingual titled Ananthan Kaadu, the first look of which was unveiled by the team on their social media handles. The posters come with the tagline, "To the jungles within..."
Actor Arya leads the film, touted as an epic political action thriller, with the rest of the cast comprising Nikhila Vimal, Vijayaraghavan, Indrans, Murali Gopy, and Santhy Balachandran, along with Telugu actor Sunil ("Jailer", "Turbo") and Kannada actor Achyuth Kumar ("Kantara", "Ulidavaru Kandanthe"), among others.
From the teaser and posters, the story and screenplay, written by Murali Gopy, hints at historical events connecting Tamil Nadu and Kerala. S. Vinod Kumar of Mini Studio is bankrolling the film that is expected to be dubbed and released in other languages as well.
S Yuva is the director of photography, with Rohith VS Variyath in charge of editing. B Ajaneesh Loknath composed the music to lyrics penned by Murali Gopy and Palani Bharathi.
Murali Gopy, who also wrote the screenplays for the acclaimed Malayalam films Left Right Left and Ee Adutha Kaalathu, is coming off the success of Empuraan, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran. Notably, the actor starred in Tiyaan, which was Jiyen Krishnakumar's third film. The director's last film was Run Baby Run, a Tamil film starring RJ Balaji and Aishwarya Rajesh.
Arya's last full-fledged screen role was in the Telugu feature Saindhav, opposite Venkatesh. He also produced the Malayalam web series 1000 Babies, with producing Shaji Nadeshan, under their August Cinema banner.
