BTS member, Kim Seokjin, popularly known as Jin, has announced his new solo album ‘Echo’ to be released on Friday, May 16, at 1 pm (KST).
Excited fans are abuzz after the teaser ‘Don’t Say You Love Me’ dropped on May 13th. The teaser and posters feature actress Shin Sae-kyeong, and the romantic concept has only heightened anticipation.
After the success of his first solo album, ‘Happy’, which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart and was the third best-selling album in the US, 'Echo' promises a shift in genre. While ‘Happy’ had soft pop, ‘Echo’ explores experimental rock, showcasing Jin’s versatility. Known as 'Worldwide Handsome' for his visuals, ‘Echo’ concept photos show Jin in a new light, with a bold rockstar look.
Echo’s highlight medley, released on May 12th, gives a sneak peek into the instrumentals for each track. The album has seven tracks and opens with the melodic ‘Don’t Say You Love Me’, followed by the upbeat ‘Nothing Without Your Love’. The third track ‘Loser (feat. Yena)’ features singer Choi Ye-na and introduces a strong rock theme. The cowboy-themed track ‘Rope It’ adds an unexpected twist. While the fifth track, ‘With The Clouds’, has a gentle tone, track 6 hints at a rock ballad. The album closes with ‘To Me, Today’. Jin, known for his silver voice, continues to stand out with his stable vocals and powerful falsetto.
To add to the excitement, Jin’s first solo world tour, ‘Run Seokjin Ep Tour’, has been announced, and shows kick off on June 28th in South Korea, followed by Japan, the USA, London, and Amsterdam. There are 18 shows in total, with each city hosting 2 shows.
To make things even more celebratory for the BTS ARMYs, all the BTS members will reunite in June when RM, V, Jungkook, Jimin, and SUGA complete their military service, marking a highly anticipated moment for fans worldwide.
