Months after a video allegedly featuring actress Oviya Helen was leaked on social media kicking up a storm, another purported video of Tamil actress Shruthi Narayanan has went viral on social media platforms.
The 14-minute video, which surfaced online a couple of days ago and was reportedly leaked during a private audition, has put the spotlight on casting couch in the Tamil film industry. However, several netizens have raised doubts over the authenticity of the video, and suggested that it could be deepfake.
Shruthi Narayanan began her career in Tamil TV serials. She has starred in several short films and TV commercials. The 24-year-old shot to fame with her performance as Vidhya in Siragadikka Aasai on Star Vijay. The show, which started in January 2023, has aired over 650 episodes till March 2025.
Shruthi was also part of Karthigai Deepam (2022), Maari (2022), and the web series, Citadel: Honey Bunny (2024).
She has strong presence on Instagram, too, with over 89,500 followers.

The promising actress had shared a series on pictures on Instagram on March 27 without any caption, and disabled the comments section, too.

Later, she shared an Instagram story highlighting the use of AI technology to clone a person, possibly hinting that the video might be fake.
She further wrote that it was a “hard situation” for her and her family. She urged netizens not to spread it like “wild fire”, and added on an angry note that if they wanted to see the video, they can “go see the videos of your mother or sister or girlfriend because they are also girls and they also have same bodies like me so go and enjoy their videos.” (sic)
She also listed the sections under which action can be taken against those who create and share such videos.
