Filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran is gearing up for the release of the most anticipated Mollywood film of 2025 — L2: Empuraan. Stacking up a stellar cast including Mohanlal, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith, and Manju Warrier, with the addition of international talents, like Eriq Ebouaney and Jerome Flynn, the sequel to the 2019 film Luicfer has expectations that go through the roof.

Another addition to the film is Nikhat Khan Hegde, the sister of Bollywood star Aamir Khan. Prithviraj introduced Hedge as part of his film last month, introducing her as Subhadra Ben. In a recent press meet, Prithviraj recalled when Khan asked about his older sister's performance. Recalling the exchange, he said, “I said I liked her when I saw her audition. I said I want her. My casting director said, oh yeah she’s wonderful. By the way, she’s also Aamir sir’s sister. I said, really? So then I called Aamir sir. I want to tell you, he just messaged me asking me, 'Is my sister good in the film?' So I said, sir, she’s a lot better than good.”

Furthermore, the actor-director also talked about the expectations he holds for the film. “We dream very big, us down south. And this time I think we’ve managed to follow it up with some seriously good work. Let’s see. I am nowhere near the most finessed filmmaker that we have in the wonderful state of Kerala. But I hope this film has a bigger finesse that will appeal to you.”

L2: Empuraan will hit theatres on March 27, available in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada. Booking for the show opened today (March 21).
