Prithviraj Sukumaran, Mohanlal and the team of Empuraan — the sequel to their blockbuster Lucifer — dropped one of their biggest updates on Sunday, the casting of Game of Thrones actor Jerome Flynn, known for playing Bronn, as one of the key characters that, in the actor's words, "plays an important part" in the journey of Mohanlal's character Khuresh Ab'raam. Jerome's character is named Boris Oliver.
Talking about his experience in the film, the English actor says it's a "completely different experience" compared to what he had "over in the UK or the US" and that being part of the "Mollywood culture of things" was really special. He added the experience was extra special to him because India was a "really important, precious" part of his journey.
"I spent several years coming over here in my late 20s and early 30s, mostly on a spiritual retreat, and the whole experience of being in India, it has changed my life forever, in the best possible way," he says. "Doing this job felt rather like coming home, and the vibe on the set, even though we never went to India, it was like being back in the middle of a Delhi roundabout; there was a kind of this beautifully orchestrated chaos and everybody was really sweet, and really loving their job, and it made it one of the most enjoyable jobs I've done."

Empuraan hits theatres worldwide on March 27, in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
As they did with Lucifer, the makers have been sharing updates of each cast member ahead of the release. Some key players in Lucifer will be reprising their roles in Empuraan, a few most likely in flashbacks, aside from new names playing characters not seen in the first.
Backed by Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions, Empuraan, scripted by Murali Gopy again, has cinematographer Sujith Vaassudev and composer Deepak Dev returning.
Principal actors include Mohanlal, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Indrajith Sukumaran, and Baiju Santhosh. A handful of international actors are also part of the cast.
