Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan unveiled the title and first look teaser of his first collaboration with AR Murugadoss. The film which is the actor's follow-up to Amaran, has been titled Madharasi. A release date is awaited soon.
The brief footage released by the makers promises an intense action-packed film and gives us brief glimpses of Sivakarthikeyan in action aside from its top cast members Rukmini Vasanth, Biju Menon, Vidyut Jammwal, Shabeer Kallarakkal and Vikranth.
Malayali cinematographer Sudeep Elamon, who shot films like Ayyappanum Koshiyum and Jana Gana Mana, is the director of photography. Madharasi marks his Tamil debut.
For Malayalis, the appearance of veteran Biju Menon in a high profile Tamil thriller is a cause for celebration.
Veteran A Sreekar Prasad is handling the editing. Anirudh has been roped in for the music.
Scripted by Murugadoss himself, Madharasi is produced by N. V. Prasad under Sri Lakshmi Movies.
Recently, Sivakarthikeyan announced another interesting project with Soorarai Pottru maker Sudha Kongara, titled Parasakthi. The film is touted as a political thriller set against the backdrop of 'Old Madras' and has Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa and Sreeleela playing the other characters.
Sivakarthikeyan has been of late making very calculated and exciting choices. While not all hit the mark, the actor managed to deliver hits with Doctor, Don, Maaveeran, and Amaran.
Out of these, Doctor and Don were produced by the actor under his home banner SK Productions. The company recently backed P.S. Vinothraj's critically acclaimed Kottukkaali, starring Anna Ben and Soori.
Interestingly, AR Murugadoss produced and wrote the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Maan Karate, directed by Krish Thirukumaran. It was a sports comedy drama released in 2014.
Aside from Madharasi, Murugadoss is directing the Salman Khan movie Sikandar.
