Rising star Anjini Dhawan has confirmed her role in AR Murugadoss’ upcoming directorial, Sikandar. Anjini, the niece of Student of the Year star Varun Dhawan, will star alongside Salman Khan, who plays the titular role.

Speaking to the Hindustan Times, the 24-year-old said, “I could not be more grateful and thankful. Every time I enter the film’s set, I have to pinch myself and ask, is this real life or am I dreaming? Every single day is a pinch-me moment.”

Praising the actor, she exclaimed, “I have grown up being his biggest fan. I have loved his films, especially the ones he and David (Dhawan, filmmaker and Anjini’s great uncle) sir have done together, from Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004) to Partner (2007), the latter being my go-to film on any day. Whenever I am having a bad day, I just need to watch Partner, and I will be okay. So, working with him is literally like living a dream.”

The teaser for Sikandar was released in December of last year, adding to the hype among fans. In the teaser, Khan’s character, Sikandar, is seen walking down a long hallway, successfully fending off masked men in full armour. Coupled with Santhosh Narayanan's goosebump-inducing musical score, the film has already set high expectations among the audience and has also earned a place among the most anticipated films of 2025.

Aside from Khan and Anjini, the film will feature Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Suniel Shetty, and Sharman Joshi. Sikandar, aiming for an Eid 2025 release, will be Khan’s first feature film release since starring in Tiger 3 (2023), aside from cameos in Singham Again (2024) and Baby John (2024).
