After the success of his Orscar-winning film Oppenheimer, celebrated director Christopher Nolan is all set to embark on his next directorial journey. On Monday, Universal Pictures announced the title and release date of Nolan’s next feature on X (formerly Twitter), slated to be released on July 17, 2026. The film, titled The Odyssey will be adapted from Homer’s epic poem of the same name.

Like Oppenheimer, this film will be captured for the IMAX screens, providing an immersive experience to the audience.

The film will feature a star-studded cast, including Tom Holland, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, and Charlize Theron, along with Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway, who worked with Nolan in 2014 film Interstellar, and Robert Pattinson, who appeared in Tenet.

While Nolan will create the screenplay for the film, his wife Emma Thomas will bankroll the production under the Syncopy banner, founded by the couple.
