Reacting to allegations of sexual harassment against noted Malayalam directors and actors in the wake of revelations in the Justice K Hema Committee report, Mollywood superstar urged people to save the Malayalam movie industry and not destroy it. The actor welcomed the Hema Committee report and said those who are guilty should be punished.
Calling the allegations against the Mollywood film personalities unfortunate, Mohanlal said it is not right to target AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists) alone and claimed that such incidents happen in all industries.
With a caveat that he cannot answer tough questions, Mohanlal said he is saddened by the allegations.
He said he appeared before the Hema Committee and answered all the questions that were posed to him.
Mohanlal claimed that AMMA is doing a lot of good work for the society, but the general committee decided to disband it as Malayalam cinema as a whole should respond to it.
