It is actor Chiyaan Vikram's birthday. As the star turns 58, the makers of Thangalaan, Studio Green and Neelam Productions, released a behind-the-scenes clip from the film. The movie is based on true events around the lives of mine workers in Kolar Gold Fields, Karnataka.
Directed by Pa Ranjith, the movie stars Malavika Mohanan and Parvathy Thiruvothu. The clip shows the actor in a never-before-seen avatar, with dreadlocks, a matted beard and wearing just a loincloth, spear in hand. It shows a few action shots and there and some shots, where the actor is getting his make-up on.
Sharing the clip on Instagram, Studio Green wrote, “An iconic talent, inspiring awe with grit and glory, delivering performances that defy expectations. Happy Birthday @the_real_chiyaan #Thangalaan Awaiting your fiery presence on big screens!”
Set in the time when India was a British colony, the movie promises to be a high-octane action flick. Vikram has also worked with filmmaker SU Arun Kumar on a project tentatively titled Chiyaan 62. The film also has S J Suryah and Suraj Venjaramoodu.
