Kamal Hassan's Indian 2, is one of the most awaited sequels of 2024. Indian was released in 1996. In the film, Hassan plays a former freedom fighter, who is enraged with rising crime and corruption in society and goes on to murder wrong-doers.
He plays a double role in the film directed by S Shankar. Urmila Matondkar, Sukanya and Manisha Koirala acted in the film too. The movie went on to bag three National Awards, including Best Actor for Hassan.
It is rumoured that Manisha Koirala, who played a crucial role in the film, will return as Ishwarya. The movie is set to release in June this year. The movie also stars Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh and Bobby Simha. In Indian 2, Senapathy gears up to play vigilante again.
Anirudh Ravichander will compose the music for the film. Manisha Koirala, who has acted in several Tamil films including Bombay and Mudhalavan, is set to make a come-back with Heeramandi, a series directed by filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Heermandi, which will be released in May, also stars Richa Chadha, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditi Rao Hydari among others.
