Joker: Folie a Deux: Trailer sets tone for an intense film

The movie is set to be a musical with 15 tracks

Joaquin Phoenix is back as Joker. This time, he is even more intense, and seems more deranged than before, if possible. Lady Gaga, who stars in the film as Harley Quinn, seems like an equally intense character, so indicates the trailer of Joker: Folie a Deux

The trailer sees Phoenix return as Arthur Fleck, a stand-up comedian turned criminal and Gaga is Harleen Quinzel, the psychiatrist assigned to treat him at Arkham Asylum. The trailer already indicates that romance brews between these two characters.

The title of the film, which is set to be a musical, is a reference to a psychiatric syndrome in which, a delusional state is shared by two people. The movie is set to have 15 musical numbers. Some of them are expected to be covers of pre-existing songs, including 'That’s Entertainment' from the 1953 musical The Band Wagon.

The movie also stars Zazie Beetz, Brendan Gleeson, Steve Coogan and Catherine Keener and is directed by Todd Phillips. This would be Gaga's second musical, the first one being A Star is Born, which also starred Bradley Cooper.

Joker, which was released in 2019, was nominated for 11 Oscars winning two. The trailer ends with a clip of Phoenix looking through a glass at Gaga, who draws a smile on it. “I want to know the real you,” she says. It looks like, with this film, fans will need to brace for some raw feelings.
