BBC acquires 'Suits' after smash year on Netflix

The series became one of the most streamed shows on Netflix in 2023

BBC has bought all nine seasons of the legal drama 'Suits' The series stars Gabriel Macht, Patrick J Adams, Sarah Rafferty, Meghan Markle, Gina Torres and Rick Hoffman. The series had a stellar year after it became one of the most streamed shows on Netflix in 2023.

The series follows Harvey Specter (Macht), who hires Mike Ross (Adams) despite the latter not having gone to law school. Both of them manage to close tough cases while hiding the truth about Ross. 

BBC also acquired St. Denis Medical and The Best Man: The Final Chapters for its channels and the BBC iPlayer. St. Denis Medical is a workplace comedy set in a hospital in Oregon, which is understaffed and underfunded. The series stars Wendi McLendon-Covey, Allison Tolman, Josh Lawson, Mekki Leeper, Kaliko Kauahi, Kahyun Kim, and David Alan Grier.

The Best Man: The Final Chapters is a spin-off of the series of movies of the same name by Universal. It stars Taye Diggs, Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long, Morris Chestnut, Terrence Howard, Melissa De Sousa, Regina Hall and Harold Perrineau.
