German actor Diane Kruger, Bollywood star Ranveer Singh and Saudi actor-writer Abdullah Al-Sadhan are set to receive career honours at the Red Sea Film Festival, which will kick off on November 30. The festival will take place in Jeddah on the Red Sea's eastern shore. The event will end on December 9.

HWJN, the fantasy film directed by Yasir Al-Yasiri from Iraq, will open the festival. Actors Freida Pinto, Joel Kinnaman, Egyptian actor Amina Khalil and Paz Vega will join Baz Luhrmann, who is presiding over the main jury for the festival.

Meanwhile, Turkish-German director Fatih Akin, Saudi writer and film critic Hana Alomair and French-Moroccan actor Assad Bouab, known for the comedy-drama series Call My Agent, will be on the festival's shorts competition jury. Mohammed Al-Turki, CEO of the Red Sea Film Foundation, said, “We are thrilled to be recognising each of their varied and deep contributions to cinema and to have them with us for our third edition,” Variety reported.

The Red Sea Honoree Award is conferred on artists who have contributed to shaping the history of cinema. “The award expresses great respect and appreciation on the part of the festival for those with profound cinematic contributions from all over the world,” the organisers told the Hollywood Reporter.
