Actor Jamie Foxx has been accused of sexual assault that took place at a New York rooftop restaurant, about eight years ago. According to a TMZ report, a woman has accused him of sexual assault. She has alleged that Foxx assaulted her at the rooftop restaurant Catch in New York, in August 2015.
She has accused Foxx of using force to touch her-- her breasts and genitals at the rooftop bar. The lawsuit filed by the woman, identified as Jane Doe, has named the co-founder of the Catch Hospitality Group, Mark Birnbaum the restaurant's staff as defendants.
The lawsuit states that the woman was sore and had to seek medical treatment. It also seeks compensation for pain suffering, emotional distress, anxiety and humiliation.
During the MeToo movement, Jamie Foxx was accused of sexual harassment, which he denied. He is one of the latest high-profile celebrities accused of sexual wrongdoing in a recent series of lawsuits filed under the Adult Survivors Act, a New York state law allowing such lawsuits to be filed in court even if the statutes of limitations have run out, Reuters reported.
The Academy Award winner was 'intoxicated' when he assaulted the woman, took her to a more secluded part and groped her.
Foxx was recently seen in courtroom drama The Burial, released on Prime Video.
