73-Freida-Pinto Agent Pinto: Freida Pinto is set to play World War II British spy Noor Inayat Khan in the limited series, Spy Princess, an adaptation of Shrabani Basu’s book, Spy Princess: The Life of Noor Inayat Khan. “At a time in this world where we are all looking at leadership and courage to guide and lead us all back to some semblance of sanity and order, I take great comfort in the quiet strength, grace, intelligence and grit that Noor Inayat Khan possessed in the face of chaos during WW2,” Pinto posted on Instagram. Director Deepa Mehta has teamed up with actor Freida Pinto for her next project, which is the film adaptation of Avni Doshi's novel, 'Burnt Sugar'. Pinto will play Antara in the novel about a disturbing mother-daughter relationship. The shoot will begin in Pune early next year and it is likely to be a non-stop schedule.

Mehta, in the meanwhile, said that her latest movie I am Sirat is doing well. “After our World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, we had screenings at Vancouver International Film Festival. These were followed by our International Premiere at the BFI London Film Festival in competition,” she said.

Freida Pinto, who rose to fame with the 2008 movie Slumdog Millionaire, has hence acted in movies like Love Sonia, Rise of the Planet of Apes and Mr Malcolm's List.

Mehta, who has directed controversial movies like Fire and Water, last directed Funny Boy, the story about a young boy, who falls in love with a male classmate.
