Actress Anushka Sharma and cricketer Virat Kohli are set to be parents for the second time, according to reports. The actress is mostly likely into her second trimester, and the couple will make the news public soon, a source told the Hindustan Times.
The couple has a daughter Vamika, born in January 2021. Speaking to the Hindustan Times, the source said that Anushka has been staying away from events and cricket matches lately to avoid speculation.
Since the birth of Vamika, Anushka and Virat have stressed on the need for privacy and requested paparazzi to not click pictures of their daughter. Similarly, they recently requested the paparazzi to not publish photographs after Anushka was spotted at a maternity clinic in Mumbai, another source said.
Anushka and Virat have kept two-year-old Vamika away from social media also. In an Instagram live session after Vamika's birth, Virat said they wanted Vamika to make her own decisions about social media exposure after she grows up.
Speaking about motherhood in an interview earlier this year, Anushka said she has become braver now. “Motherhood has given me that because you have to trust yourself so much as a parent, as a mother, because you are taking decisions for someone who is so small and incapable in a lot of ways,” she said.
On the workfront, Anushka will next be seen in Chakda Express, a biopic of Jhulan Goswami, former captain of the Indian national women's team.
