Fans of Shah Rukh Khan were in for a power-packed treat as makers of Jawan released the film's official trailer on Thursday. The trailer gives a glimpse of Shah Rukh's multiple avatars in the film—from a solider to a vigilante who hijacks a metro train.

The trailer promises a film packed with all the elements for a thorough entertainer. It is expected to explore multiple timelines in which Shah Rukh will be seen in each of his avatars. Jawan also positions its women at the centre of high-octane sequences, including the power-packed scenes featuring Nayanthara and Deepika Padukone.

Nayanthara also marks her Bollywood debut with the Atlee-directorial. The actress, who has stayed away from social media, also made her debut on Instagram ahead of the trailer release. Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi plays the antagonist in the film. In the trailer, he is introduced as the world's "fourth largest arms dealer".

One of Shah Rukh's punchlines has already found resonance with the actor's fans. He said :“Bete ko haath lagane se pehle baap se baat kar (Before touching the son, talk to his father).” Fans took to social media to stress that this was 'Shah Rukh's 'message' to Sameer Wankhede, former chief of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), who is embroiled in the controversy over Aryan Khan's arrest in the drugs bust case.

Bankrolled by Gauri Khan under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment, Jawan hits the big screens on September 7. Advance bookings for the much-awaited film open on Friday.
