Akshay Kumar-starrer OMG 2, which triggered controversy after its teaser was released recently, has been given an 'A' (Adults only) certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) without any cuts.

The Censor Board, which is being extra vigilant after the massive row over Adipurush and most-recently the scenes in Oppenheimer, has recommended over 25 modifications in the film. After the teaser release, the film was referred to the Revision Committee.

According to Times of India, Akshay, who was initially playing Lord Siva, will now play 'Messenger of God'. Scenes showing Akshay's character in an intoxicated state have also been modified.

The film, originally set in the temple town of Ujjain, will now be set in a fictional place as per the modifications suggested by the CBFC. Further, scenes portraying nudity of Naga Sadhus have also been replaced. References to Shivling, Bhagwad Gita, Upanishad, Krishna, Gopiyan and Rasleela have also been removed, TOI stated.

The comedy drama, a standalone sequel to Kumar's 2012 film, is written and directed by Amit Rai. The film also featuring Panka Tripathi, Yami Gautam and Arun Govil will hit the big screens on August 11.

According to reports, after the makers of OMG2 released a short teaser, a priest from Ujjain's Mahakaleshwar temple had demanded deletion of scenes shot at the temple as it 'might offend religious sentiments'.
