Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 is on the verge of yet another major box office milestone. After crossing the ₹100-crore mark in India within five days of its release, the romantic action thriller has now collected ₹144.13 crore worldwide, putting it within touching distance of the ₹150-crore benchmark.

The film, which hit theatres on August 14, has maintained a strong run through its opening weekend and into the weekdays. According to Sacnilk, Awarapan 2 has collected ₹102.43 crore net in India so far. Its domestic gross collection currently stands at ₹122.31 crore, while the overseas box office has contributed to taking its worldwide total to ₹144.13 crore. It has collected ₹1.68 crore today at the box office.

The film opened with ₹22 crore on its first day and witnessed a significant jump on Saturday, collecting ₹33.75 crore. It earned ₹26 crore on Sunday, followed by ₹9.25 crore on Monday and ₹9.75 crore on Tuesday. The five-day India net total thus stands at ₹100.75 crore.

The film’s performance is particularly significant for Hashmi, as Awarapan 2 marks his first Rs 100 crore film as a solo lead. The actor had previously appeared in films such as Tiger 3 and They Call Him OG that crossed the ₹100-crore mark, but this is the first time one of his films as the primary lead has achieved the milestone.

Made on a reported budget of ₹45 crore, the sequel has already emerged as a commercial success. Its performance also marks a sharp turnaround from the original Awarapan, which did not make a major impact during its theatrical release but gradually developed a cult following over the years, aided by its music and emotional storyline.

Directed by Nitin Kakkar, Awarapan 2 also stars Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi, Survinder Vicky and Puran Gabbi. With its worldwide collection currently standing at ₹144.13 crore, the film is now poised to add the ₹150-crore milestone to its already impressive theatrical run.
