Upcoming Malayalam movie Monster, starring Mohanlal in the lead, has reportedly been banned in the Gulf region over LGBT content. Monster release date has been fixed for October 21 in India.

According to media reports, the film failed to pass censor formalities in the Gulf region, which is a major market for Malayalam movies.

The makers of the movie have decided to submit the movie again after making the necessary changes. This would mean that Monster, directed by Vysakh, will be released in Gulf region a few days after its release in India.

A delayed release in the Gulf region is likely to affect Monster opening day collection.

Touted to be crime thriller, Monster movie plot revolves around a suspicious character named Lucky Singh, played by Mohanlal.

Apart from Mohanlal, Monster movie cast includes Telugu actor Lakshmi Manchu, Lena, Honey Rose, Sudev Nair, and Siddique.

Mohanlal had last collaborated with Vysakh Pulimurugan. The director had recently said while Monster OTT release date hasn't yet been fixed, he is confident that it will work both in theatre and OTT format.
