Many highly anticipated films and series are releasing on streaming platforms this week. Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi’s Gehraiyaan leads the pack. Fans have also been eagerly awaiting the release of Mahaan, starring Tamil actor Vikram and his son Dhruv.

Snowdrop: Disney plus Hotstar
Release date: Feb 9
The Korean drama featuring Blackpink’s Jisoo and Jung Hae-in, which was airing on South Korean network JTBC, is set to drop on Disney plus Hotstar. The political drama is set against the backdrop of the 1987 Democracy Movement in South Korea. The series also features Yoo In-na, Jang Seung-jo, Yoon Se-ah, Kim Hye-yoon, and Jung Yoo-jin.
Mahaan: Amazon Prime Video
Release date: Feb 10
The multilingual action thriller starring Vikram, also features Dhruv Vikram, Vani Bhojan, Bobby Simha, Simran, Sananth and Deepak Paramesh. Mahaan is directed by Karthik Subbaraj, known for movies like Jigarthanda, Petta and Jagame Thandhiram.
Freedom Fight: Sony Liv
Release date: Feb 11
A Malayalam anthology of 5 patriotic stories, each film talks about the importance of freedom. Presented by The Great Indian Kitchen director Jeo Baby, the anthology also features shorts from directors Akhil Anilkumar, Kunjila Mascillamani, Francies Louis and Jithin Issac Thomas.
Gehraiyaan: Amazon Prime Video

Billed as a drama about complex modern relationships, Gehraiyaan features Deepika Pdukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, Nasseeruddin Shah, Rajat Kapur and Dhairya Karwa. Directed by Shakun Batra, the film is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. In an interview, Padukone was all in praise of Batra for creating a safe and secure environment, especially for the film's intimate scenes. In a first for a major Bollywood movie, the film's makers had also roped in an intimacy director.
Inventing Anna: Netflix
Release date: Feb 11
The nine-episode true-crime series is created and produced by Shonda Rhimes. In the show, a journalist investigates the case of Anna Delvey, the Instagram-legendary heiress who stole the hearts and money of New York elites. It is based on Jessica Pressler's 2018 article ‘How Anna Delvey Tricked New York's Party People’.
