It's been three years since Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas tied the knot. In a recent interview Priyanka opened up about her career, marriage and hardships of a long-distance relationship when the couple stay apart due to work commitments..

During an interview to InStyle’s Ladies First With Laura Brown podcast, she confessed that it was ‘tough’ for her to stay away from Nick and her family while she was shooting in the UK for the last 12 months for her upcoming series Citadel. “This year has been really tough. It was really really tough to be away from home for an entire year, especially at a time when you can’t travel to see your family. I was just alone,” the actress said.

While Priyanka was shooting in the UK, her mother and brother were in India and husband Nick was in the US. She also disclosed how worried she was with the mere thought that she could not make it to the flight on time for a family emergency.

The couple had to be quarantined many times whenever they saw each other amid their hectic professional schedule. Despite staying far away from each other and meeting once in a while, the celeb couple never failed to awe fans with their bonding. Talking about their love life and career Priyanka said they do not interfere in each other’s professional lives. “We’ll have an opinion on each other’s things, we’ll be each other's champions but those decisions are predominantly for both of us to take, because we have built our careers by ourselves for such a long time,” she said.

The 39-year old actress was also heard praising her husband for taking out time from his busy schedule to at least have dinner with her. She added: “I think at the same time, it’s very important to keep a check on another person’s heart and how they’re feeling. And I have to say, my husband’s amazing at doing that.”
