Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi recalled an incident in which Sanjay Dutt helped him to become popular among girls when the former was a student.

Speaking to Times of India, Oberoi, on the occasion of 14th anniversary of the release of the movie  ‘Shootout At Lokhandwala’, in which he shared screen space with Dutt, said he was nervous when he met him on the sets of the movie.

"He was a childhood icon for me. He was larger than life," Oberoi said and added that meeting Dutt on the sets took him down the memory lane to the days when he was a student and Dutt came to meet him.

Oberoi said once when he was studying in a boarding school at the prestigious Mayo College in Ajmer, his father Suresh Oberoi was shooting in Jaipur. His father decided to visit him and Dutt decided to accompany him. "It was an amazing surprise to see dad but what left me shell-shocked was seeing the long-haired Sanjay Dutt pop out of the car. He was shooting with dad and decided to come along to say ‘hi’. Even back then, he was the most charming dude ever," the actor was quoted as saying.

Oberoi requested Dutt to come to see the Mayo girl’s school right across the road. "When he walked in with me, the gates opened. The chowkidars were just standing there agape. The girls went ballistic and I felt like a king! " He said for months since that day, he was a mini star in the school.

He said when he met Dutt on the sets of ‘Shootout At Lokhandwala’, he reminded the latter of the incident, Dutt burst into laughtter and asked him, "‘So how many girlfriends did you make because of me?’”
