Sharing an article about the internet being cut around New Delhi amid the ongoing farmers protests in India, Rihanna on Tuesday asked her Twitter followers, "Why aren't we talking about this".

In response, Kangana Renault tweeted calling the farmers "terrorists" and Rihanna a "fool".
No one is talking about it because they are not farmers they are terrorists who are trying to divide India, so that China can take over our vulnerable broken nation and make it a Chinese colony much like USA...

Sit down you fool, we are not selling our nation like you dummies. https://t.co/OIAD5Pa61a
While some US lawmakers have expressed their concern over the state of the protests in India and the use of force against protesters, Hollywood celebrities have largely stayed quiet on the topic.
Actor John Cusack, who is often politically outspoken, had tweeted several times in support of the farmers. He had also tweeted during the anti-CAA protests and the storming of Jamia Milia University by police.
Priyanka Chopra, on December 6, 2020, was among those who tweeted in support of the farmers.
"Our farmers are India's Food Soldiers. Their fears need to be allayed. Their hopes need to be met. As a thriving democracy, we must ensure that this crisis is resolved sooner than later," she tweeted.
