Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor is set to play the role of 'Naagin' for a trilogy that will be directed by Vishal Furia.

Sharing the news on social media, Shraddha said she was delighted to reprise the role that has been immortalised by many actresses, notably Sridevi.

“It’s an absolute delight for me to play a naagin on screen. I have grown up watching, admiring and idolising Sridevi ma’am’s Nagina and Nigahen and always wanted to play a similar role rooted in Indian traditional folklore. It’s like playing an iconic character, which has always been so fascinating for the audience,” Shraddha said in a statement.

The makers are planning to mount the trilogy with VFX and special effects, the Indian Express reported.

Shraddha has earlier played a character with supernatural powers in the horror comedy Stree.

She was last seen in Baaghi 3, along with Tiger Shroff.
