Actresses Shraddha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan may be called for questioning this week in the drugs probe linked to actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death, multiple reports stated on Monday.

Their names reportedly came up during the questioning of actress Rhea Chakraborty, who was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on September 9. Besides Rhea, the NCB also arrested her brother Showik Chakraborty, Sushant’s former aide Samuel Miranda and drug dealers who have been allegedly linked to Bollywood.

The NCB may issue summons to Sara and Shraddha later this week based on alleged WhatsApp messages retrieved from Rhea Chakraborty's mobile phone, sources told NDTV.

Rhea Chakraborty was questioned for three days before her arrest on charges of arranging drugs for Sushant Rajput.

In its order rejecting Rhea’s bail plea, a special court in Mumbai had said that at the present stage there are no "reasonable grounds" for not connecting her to the case. The court also said there is possibility of the accused tampering with evidence if released on bail. Among other grounds, Rhea's lawyer Satish Maneshinde had submitted that no contraband has been seized from the accused and rejected allegations she procured drugs for Sushant.

Sushant was found dead at his Bandra apartment on June 14.
