Amitabh Bachchan recovers from COVID-19; gets discharged from hospital

Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, who was admitted to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai after he tested COVID-19 positive, got discharged from hospital after testing negative for the disease.

His son Abhishek Bachchan took to Twitter to announce the news that his father has tested negative and has been discharged. "My father, thankfully, has tested negative on his latest Covid-19 test and has been discharged from the hospital. He will now be at home and rest. Thank you all for all your prayers and wishes for him."

Abhishek further said he will continue to be hospitalised as is still positive for the disease. He thanked everyone for their prayers and added that he will beat the pandemic and will be back healthier.

"I, Unfortunately due to some comorbidities remain Covid-19 positive and remain in hospital. Again, thank you all for your continued wishes and prayers for my family. Very humbled and indebted. 🙏I’ll beat this and come back healthier! Promise," he wrote on Twitter.

Earlier, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, 46, and eight-year-old daughter Aaradhya were discharged from the hospital on Monday after testing negative for COVID-19.
