Even as several people, including politicians and actors, demanded a CBI probe into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, his final post mortem report ruled out any foul play in the death.

The actor was found hanging in his Bandra apartment, sending shockwaves across the Bollywood industry.

According to media reports, the autopsy report, analysed by five doctors, revealed that the actor died by "asphyxia due to hanging." The initial post mortem report, which was signed by three doctors, too had confirmed that the actor died by asphyxia, suffered due to hanging.

The autopsy report revealed that there was no signs of struggles or external injuries on the actor's body, suggesting that that it was in fact a case of suicide. The police is now awaiting the viscera report. According to a report in DNA, Mumbai Police have written to the forensic department of Maharashtra, requesting it to speed up the process of viscera report.

Earlier, police officials too had said they did not find any foul play in their initial investigation.

BJP MP and Bhojpuri actor-singer Manoj Tiwari was among those who pitched for a CBI inquiry into the suicide of the actor. "I would urge Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to do the needful by recommending a CBI inquiry. There must be a high-level investigation into the circumstances that drove the young actor to suicide," he said.
