Actor Ashiesh Roy, known for his roles in television shows such as Sasural Simar Ka and Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi, has been admitted to the ICU of a hospital for dialysis. The actor took to Facebook to appeal for financial help. I'm in the ICU. Very ill. Dialysis," he wrote in a post.

He followed it up with another post which seems like a desperate appeal. “Need urgent money for dialysis,” he wrote.

Following this, celebrities have been responding to his post, calling for speedy recovery and also seeking help for the 55-year-old actor. Filmmaker Hansal Mehta shared Roy’s post and asked film bodies to reach out to the actor.  He tweeted: "Actor Ashiesh Roy (Bond) is seriously ill, on dialysis and in the ICU. He has appealed for financial help on FB. I'm doing all I can to help. Can industry associations also help the ailing actor?" He tagged the General Secretary of Cine And TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA) Sushant Singh, and also Ashoke Pandit in his tweet.

Pandit responded to the tweet, and enquired about details of the hospital.

On Wednesday, Roy posted on Facebook that the appeal for funds for his dialysis was 100 per cent genuine.
