Rishi Kapoor’s wife Neetu Kapoor pens gratitude note for hospital staff

His ashes were immersed in Banganga tank on Sunday in presence of his family members

A day after actor Rishi Kapoor’s ashes were immersed in Mumbai’s Banganga, his wife Neetu Kapoor thanked the medical team for taking care of him during his battle with cancer.

Sharing a black and white portrait of Rishi Kapoor and an adorable photo of the couple, Neetu wrote of her ‘immense gratitude’ for the team at Mumbai’s HN Reliance Hospital. She wrote: “As a family we have a deep sense of loss.. when we sit together and look back at the past few months what we also feel is immense gratitude - gratitude towards the doctors at HN reliance hospital! The whole team of doctors, brothers and nurses headed by Dr Tarang Gianchandani treated my husband like he was their own - they advised us like we were their own.. and for all that and more I thank them from the bottom of my heart.”

Rishi Kapoor died at the age of 67 on April 30, after a two year long battle with cancer. His ashes were immersed in Banganga tank on Sunday in presence of his family members, including Neetu, son Ranbir Kapoor and daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahani.

A prayer meet was held on Saturday at the veteran star’s house, which was attended by close family members.

In a final tribute to Rishi Kapoor who passed away on April 30, Neetu Kapoor had earlier posted a cheery picture of the veteran actor. The picture showed Rishi Kapoor, smiling at the camera, with a glass of whisky in his hand. She captioned it: “End of our story”.

Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor acted together in quite a number of hit films like Khel Khel MeinAmar Akbar Antony and so on before they tied the knot in 1980. After their marriage, they shared the screen space in Love Aaj KalDo Dooni Chaar, Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Besharam.
