Photographer Daboo Ratnani whose celebrity calendars are an annual ritual, recently released this year's calendar. Photographs of celebs, especially of Bhumi Pednekar and Kiara Advani who went topless for their debut shoot with Ratnani, went viral on the internet.
Ratnani had faced some criticism where users pointed out similarities between Kiara's photo, in which she is seen posing behind a leaf, and a photo shoot done by international photographer Marie Barsch. After Twitter users shared a collage of the two photos, Barsch herself posted the collage and expressed her disappointment with a message. "I just leave that here...," she wrote.
Now, Ratnani has responded to the allegations and shared a throwback picture of his photoshoot from 2002 in which Tabu can be seen posing behind foliage. Sharing the post on his Instagram post, Dabboo wrote: "Beautiful Tabu for Dabboo Ratnani calendar 2002. This timeless and mesmerising shot of Tabu was taken in the year 2001 and it featured in my calendar in the year 2002. There's been a little noise about Kiara Advani 's breathtaking 2020 calendar shot with leaf! Guess if I can reuse my camera, I can definitely repeat my own concept and if at all that doesn't go well with trolls, then I admit to plagiarising my own self."

Jacqueline Fernandez, Kiara Advani, Ananya Panday, Parineeti Chopra, Kriti Sanon, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, John Abraham, Kartik Aaryan, Tiger Shroff and Varun Dhawan.
At the calendar launch event, the celebrities posed with their respective pictures.
